Stevenson House is an affordable housing community for seniors, located in Palo Alto. We have 92 studios and 28 one-bedrooms, each with a bath and a small kitchen. Studios range in price from $544 - $1067; one-bedroom units from $791 - $1219. All rents include utilities. (This does not include cable.) Reserved parking spaces are available for $15 per month.

Meals
Full dinners are served Monday through Friday in the lovely dining room. Two full menu options are planned to meet nutritional and preferential needs of our residents. Meal participation is mandatory for most residents; special diets are available. The monthly cost of $153 per resident is added to the rent. There is also an optional weekday lunch program available at a cost of $40 for 21 lunches or at a cost of $2.00 per day. On Fridays during the winter months residents may purchase soup prepared by our chef at a cost of $1.50/pint.

Health Services
The Stevenson House Registered Nurse is available every Wednesday 12:00 - 3:00 at a cost of $1.00 per visit. The Nurse addresses blood pressure, skin problems, podiatry issues, oral hygiene and nutrition and will review any health concerns a resident might have. She also presents a 7:30pm Health Program the third Monday of the month. The topic of these programs is determined by the interests of the residents. Translation is available. Also, the County of Santa Clara sponsors a quarterly Nutrition Program with special emphasis on senior needs.

Transportation
A Free Shuttle to Downtown Palo Alto and the Stanford Shopping Center is provided by the City of Palo Alto. "Outreach" is a transportation option for mobility limited seniors in Santa Clara County. The Staff assists residents apply for this service.

Through a grant from the Palo Alto Community Fund, Stevenson House is able to provide residents with a partial subsidy to help offset the cost of using taxis, Outreach and Roadrunners. This same grant has allowed SH to purchase five spaces for residents on the Avenidas weekly “Shopping Bus”. Peninsula Interfaith Action (PIA) also assists by connecting volunteer drivers with SH residents in need of transportation.

Care Coordination
The Staff makes every effort to help residents maintain their independence and remain at Stevenson House as long as possible. Assistance is offered and frequently provided in the areas of needs assessment, home visits, as well as in application preparation for extraordinary services when and if they become necessary.

24 Hour Assistance
Emergency call systems are standard equipment in each apartment and emergency on call personnel are available 24 hours per day.

Translation Services
Translators are available for Russian, Chinese, and Spanish speakers.

Special Equipment
Grab bars and shower chairs will be installed upon request and wheel chairs, canes, and walkers are available for use at no cost to the borrower.
