Stevenson House, situated on 2.9 beautifully landscaped acres, is home for about 130 older adults. Residents live in one of our three low-rise buildings in either a studio or one-bedroom apartment. All apartments have a full kitchen and bath.

At Stevenson House, we enjoy independent living while nurturing a warm sense of community. We garden and we attend class. We exercise, And we shop and go to work. We dine and enjoy music, movies and conversation together.

We love any excuse for a party or barbecue. Dinnertime is a highlight in the day. Delicious, nutritionally balanced, attractively presented meals are served weeknights in the central dining room. The lively conversation and warm sense of family truly make this activity a favorite. We have an active Residents Association that sponsors events like monthly Birthday Dinners to honor residents, and organizes activities that are both fun and educational.

Stevenson House means a quality living environment for older adults. Surrounded by elegant trees and colorful gardens, and set back from the main thoroughfare, it provides a peaceful retreat. Mitchell Park, with its wide fields and tree-lined walks, is practically in our backyard.

We are centrally located in a lively university town in the heart of Silicon Valley. That means a wide variety of cultural, recreational and academic opportunities are at our doorstep. Both Stanford University and Foothill Community College offer courses on-site or nearby. Avenidas Senior Center, just minutes away, offers a broad variety of classes, lectures and other services.

Public transportation and midtown shopping are within easy reach at Stevenson House. Through a recent generous grant from the Palo Alto Community Fund, Stevenson House has initiated a program to provide residents with a partial subsidy to help offset the cost of using taxis, outreach and Roadrunners. Through this same grant, Stevenson House has purchased five spaces on the Avenidas weekly “Shopping Bus.”
